Your Laguiole knife is made entirely by the Laguiole artisanal factory in Aubrac.
The blade, the guilloché of the spring, the massive brushed stainless steel bolsters and the nails are made at the Laguiole forge in Aubrac.
The vine stock wood comes from very old vines that have lost their vigour, and whose yield has decreased. They are mainly from the south of France.
Unfortunately, when the vines are exhausted, they need to be pulled up in order to leave the soil to rest and to be able to replant a new vine that will have a regular and high yield.
The vine wood is recycled into pellets for heating, but it is also used for cutlery or decoration.
Its colour varies according to age, exposure and grape variety. It varies from light brown to very dark brown, there is a lot of contrast due to the veining, knots, and darker parts.
It is a resistant, noble, pleasant to the touch and original wood!!
For wine lovers, collectors of old wood knives, this Laguiole in vine wood is ideal!
The left side of the handle of this Laguiole is decorated with the shepherd’s cross.
