Your Laguiole knife is entirely made by the artisanal Laguiole en Aubrac factory.
The blade, the guillochage of the spring, the massive bolsters in brushed stainless steel and the nails are made at the Laguiole en Aubrac forge.
The wood of the vine stock comes from very old vines which have lost their vigour, and whose yield has diminished. They are mainly from the south of France.
It is important to ensure the longevity of the vines to produce a quality wine! Great wines flow from old vines!
Unfortunately, when the vines (stock) are exhausted, they need to be uprooted in order to leave the land at rest and to be able to replant a new stock which will have a regular and high yield.
The vine stock wood is recycled into pellets for heating, but it is also used in cutlery or decoration.
Its color varies according to age, exposure and grape variety. It varies from light brown to very dark brown, there is a lot of contrast due to the grain, knots, and darker parts.
It is a resistant, noble, pleasant to the touch and original wood!!
For wine lovers, collectors of old wood knives, this Laguiole in vine wood is ideal!
The left side of the handle of this Laguiole is decorated with the shepherd’s cross.
