In 1947, Pierre DOURIS and Lucienne CHASTEL entered the field of cutlery by presenting the very first model of automatic knife, equipped with an innovative mechanism previously unmatched. This invention, subject to patent, catapulted them to the top of the profession, earning them recognition and notoriety.

During the 1960s, Pierre DOURIS undertook the design of new models of knives, and he meticulously developed ever more ingenious tools, thus refining his unique vision of the folding knife.

DOURIS CHASTEL has established itself as the authority in multi-blade knives.
The folding knives of this brand are distinguished by their originality, their proven performance and their undeniable utility. Their diversity, both in terms of models and applications, covers a wide range of uses, from everyday use to specialized activities such as hunting, fishing and horse riding.

The high point of their success came at the end of the 70s with the creation of the famous “Le Pionnier”, a multi-blade folding knife which stands as a symbol of French craftsmanship par excellence.
