Forge de Laguiole Table knives GHION Buffalo (Set of 6)

It is with its beautiful box of six knives that opens the “table collection” signed
Christian Ghion. With its characteristic handle with a length of 13 centimeters that
extends in a perfectly harmonious curve, a beautiful stainless steel blade (Z40C13)
10 centimeters long and three millimeters thick.
Barely tapering the blade at the tip, slightly softening the counter edge line
and drawing inspiration from his folding model, the designer offers a particularly
success of the traditional FORGE DE LAGUIOLE table knife.

The year 2008 had seen the success of the “folding” specially created by Christian Ghion
for the LAGUIOLE FORGE.

It is the handle that constitutes the common point uniting all the elements
of this superb collection which successfully combines the elegant authenticity of the product
of heritage and the contemporary refinement of the design object.
Indeed, made in a beautiful dark horn with a shiny finish, this one has a single
and same dimension, 13 centimeters, whatever the destination of the cutting edge considered.
Thanks to its design with a very balanced arc that stabilizes the grip,
this handle adapts to all blade lengths and all uses.
Front bolsters, rear bolsters in stainless steel protects the extremities and reinforces the solidity,
while a smooth pyramid-shaped fly signs each of the copies of this reminder
identity specific to Laguiole.*

Christian GHION
Born in 1958 in Montmorency, Christian Ghion joined ECM in 1982 (Study and creation of
Mobilier), Charenton school of architecture where he taught from 1986.
In 1987, he founded his own design studio with Patrick Nadeau.
In 1990, he won the Grand Prize for Creation from the city of Paris.
We owe him the new Chantal Thomass boutique, rue Saint-Honoré in Paris and that of Jean-
Charles de Castelbajac, versatile universe of 250 m2 and many objects for the
prestigious Italian publisher Driade. Cappellini, Neotu, Sawaya & Moroni at Tarkett… His
countless creations and collaborations.
Exhibited at the VIA, the Fondation Cartier, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Musée Georges
Pompidou, his works are also present in many collections
international.
